Yeah that CAT Power floats around at a lot of places and gets re-badged as other brands as well. However, it is NOT on ebay anymore.

I think Dave throws in the CAT power flex-plate for free or cheap when he is running specials. If he anyone says they have an SFI flex-plate or $150 brand new or less its the cat power. All others are $200+.

SFI rated is the only way to go, go directly to cats web site. I am running one of their flexplates with no issues. You really don't want to loose a flexplate on the run. It's just cheap insurance.

The stock flex plate can handle a lot of power. I was running high 10's on mine with no issues until I switched to the th350 tranny. The difference between the years is that from 98-00 the flex plates had both SBC and LS style bolt pattern and the newer ones (01-02) only had the LS style bolt holes tapped out. Now the SBC ones were there you just had to drill them out. I used the TCI flex plate as another option but to each his own..

I have the TCI with a Vig stall. I bought the arp bolts and they weren't long enough so I went to the hardware store and got me some grade 8's. I think I had to go with a 3/4" long bolt. Had I went with a stock flexplate I would have been able to use them. For what some SFI plates can be bought for it seems like a good investment. I do have a tendency to over build things though. I had to use an 1/8" shim to get the converter spacing correct.

Just a little update. I talked with Dave@yank and I guess they used to get their FPS from Cat power. Says they went out of buisness. Anywho, I was recomended the trailblazer FP its not sfi rated but its stronger and should be a great fit. Should be fairly cheap to.

HAHA well, just ordered the upgraded FP from dealer. Not as cheap as thought $165 but I trust its much better than my stock 01-02 and should fit with stock bolts. Price must have somethin to do with living in CT everything is expensive as hell!
For anyone doing a search, part # for this is flexplate is #12602448

The stocker is crap (thin and weak). Anything aftermarket is an improvement. Im running the CAT Power. Its heavier then stock but a hell of a lot stronger. Its about twice as thick as the stocker. They usually run about $70 shipped (ebay) and are SFI rated to about 13K rpms. Stock bolts will work fine.

Heres the CAT one. Still in business as far as I can tell and much cheaper than that.

You would want FP-346
