most use stock unless you need a neutrally balanced flex for your rotating internals

Absolutely, supposedly the 98 had something different (stronger or maybe just something to do with working on different applications) but for the price it's worth piece of mind.

The gold anodized SFI plates are pretty cheap and work well from my research here. I think I got mine for $60-70 on ebay. Someone even gave me ~$20 for my stock one.

Thanks! I was thinking the TCI one but then I saw the speed inc for like 80 bucks less. But idk if its same as stock or not.

Are any SFI rated plates better than stock?

They all should be yes.

Do a search here and the carnage pics of stock failures should convince you. I like having feet.

You didnt have to drill? Any chance you could provide a link to that specific plate?

Everything lined up great? Bolts came with it? Bolts were right length?

The stocker is crap (thin and weak). Anything aftermarket is an improvement. Im running the CAT Power. Its heavier then stock but a hell of a lot stronger. Its about twice as thick as the stocker. They usually run about $70 shipped (ebay) and are SFI rated to about 13K rpms. Stock bolts will work fine.

Awesome! Thanks for the info but I cant seem to find it on ebay anymore. Speed inc has the same one I think but its $120 on back order.
Did you have to drill out the holes any? Stock bolts were long enough huh?

Amazingly you are right, the Cat Power used to be all over ebay. Wonder what happened? The Yank comes with new bolts. However, I had to shim mine and I wasnt comfortable with the thread engagement so I got some high grade bolts from Orielly's and cut them to the exact size I need for full thread engagement into the converter feet.

I would just replace it while in there. I found one on ebay for like $70. Think it's the one 01ssredA4 is talking about. I'll be getting that when I order my ss4000 stall!!!
