a stall is going to make you spin more rpms in traffic as will gears so slow acceleration wont have any more "snappiness" the only thing that will feel better is when you stab the throttle in which case a stall is going to feel a lot better when you stab it... it will be a little more loose than a stall but the gains will be much greater. In the end its your choice if you came into this thread looking for agreement with your idea i think your only gonna get it from a few people. It seems kinda pointless (no offense) to keep posting in here for a lot of us because you look like you really want gears and if thats the case get them, if not get a stall but i dont think were really having an effect on your thinking lol

My mind was set on gears...until I read the STALL faqs. article in this forum...It reccomended a stall first "you'd be supprised how a 3000 stall will launch a car with
2:73s" that's what poped the question..I needed to understand the diff. between the 2 before making my $ decisions. I was almost sold on a stall until other threads convinced me otherwise...I've decided to go with 3:42 motives for this year.(I think 3:73s are even too much for my daily driving)..see how the car feels, I'm sure I'll be happy, and then next year match a decent stall. This thread has been very helpful on helping me, or anyone understand how a stall will work opposed to gears...tks

Don't waste your time swapping new 3.42 gears in your rear end when you when you can buy good used complete 3.42 rears at a salvage yard or locally for only a few hundred dollars.

FTI 3600 converter with 2:73's here. Car never see's the track. For me I like to do 70-80 on the highway cruise speed at a decent rpm. Only mod and no regrets. Gear is next with H/C but even at that it will be a 3:42. With the 2:73 and stall I still have great light pedal acceleration, normal take off's etc. for daily driving. If you choose to get a stall you should read up on S.T.R and consider going bigger than 3000. But really have a sponsor spec you a stall. If you do the gear it makes more sense to get a used complete 10 bolt as they are fairly cheap and easy to find on the forums. You have a complete original 10 bolt when you blow the 2nd so you dont feel like

You know a converter helps you everywhere, especially from a dig right? My car was downright anemic from a dig/low roll with the stock stall, after I put the 3600 in it ******* roasts the tires. You'll probably want some decent tires if you get a stall, mines are bald lol.
