Yea so far bolting headers are tougher than this.
I actually already have a trans cooler on the car but I have a new one comming in a few days. Im going with a flexalite fin and tube 7 1/2 x 20 1/2 x 3/4. I had a b&m 14400 btu mounted dope style but it dosent work there as good as it does in front of the condensor. I cant fit it at condensor because I have a cai kit. So then I did get this 10 x 15 x 1/2 fin and tube to see how well it would do vs the b&m....

I stayed away from fin and tube because iv heard many times on here that they are not as good. But after trying this one I have a different opinion. This fin and tube stayed consistant 130f-140f on a 55f day cruising at 80-90mph. This was after driving for an hour. Only thing that I dont like is its 10" high and the top fins got a little flat from the ram air in front of it. So that flexalite I have comming will be a perfect fit

I think one of the reasons the plate style is more favored is because of the surface area of actually where the coolant is flowing, and restriction, which slows down the fluid in order for it to be cooled better. But if what you have works, then it works.

Well one thing I know for sure is any cooler works best at the condensor. If I could fit the b&m there with the ram air I would. But in this case the flexalite dimensions will be perfecto in back of the ram air duct.

Get a small pick or flat blade screwdriver and pop out those metal clips. Its like the ones that are on manual window cranks. Or you can unscrew the whole fitting from the transmission. Either way works.

The trans lines are held in by what I like to call jesus clips, and do what the guy above me stated and use a small pick and they come right out, then you just pull the line out, as for the trans fluid I lost about 5qts but may differ from time to time

Lovin this thread because I will be doing the same thing in about 2 weeks. Great pics and easy to follow, thanks. As for the exhaust, go for the TSP duals! You'll love them. There are a couple used in the classified section right now for good prices.

Is that 5qts from the pan? Cause I lost almost 4qts from my pan.

What stall are you going with?
Yea I thought it would be cool to do a thread like this so others can see its not really that hard to do this. This is my first time dropping the trans btw. Plus you dont see to many TC threads with pics.
Oh man, idk what im gonna do with the exhaust. If I buy anything I want stainless but at the same time I dont want to do headers again. I just did them last year and just the thought of having to mess with that old borla catback makes me wanna go with tsp duals so its easier. ****! I wonder if I would actually gain anything by just going duals.

There is a picture of the clip in this thread.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic...ngs-seals.html

If you look very closely at the fitting in the left of the picture, you will see a tiny ridge where the round edges of the clip go through the connector and lock onto the line thats coming through the center.

Thats more good info for this thread thanks. Im gonna have to look better in there tomorro. I didnt see anything like that in there. I can see the cooler lines in the pics I took 10xs better than when I was under the car.

Im gonna get some extensions tomorro and I was wondering what the best thing would be to get for the bellhousing bolts...swivel socket? wobble extension with a shallow 13mm socket?

+1... That's because you yell out "Jesus!" when the things go flying to an unknown (and never to be seen again) destination once you get them loose.

Here's hoping your converter bolts aren't torx headed..

Look at these 2 pictures, see where the clip goes THROUGH the connector? Those two connectors are whats screwed into the side of the trans. They are hollow and the silver tranny lines plug into the center of them.
