I was curious so I read the card that came with my converter. From Yank it says "We do not recomend any kind of synthetic fluid" It says to use name brand Dex 3 or type F. If thats what they recomend then thats whats going in. Iv never used synthetic trans fluid anyway.

Kinda random pics. Ever wonder what black painted Pacesetter headers look like after exactly one year in new england? Here they are lol

Theres the oil sending unit that you need to be careful around when doing intake swap.

You're right that getting the tranny off those dowel pins is one of the toughest parts of the job. Even on lift with a tranny jack, we really had to struggle with it. I really have to hand it to you guys who do it on your back with the car on jack stands. It's hard to imagine how you get enough leverage to budge it. It's a bear.

looks like fun. My transmission did not want to come out either. Spraying your pin holes with somem wd or pb blaster will get it to slide right out alot easier.

I couldnt believe how stuck it was. I hope I didnt bent anything out of whack with all the prying. I tried to be as careful as possible.
Yea it is a bear. Iv had a disk problem in my back and it went away for a long time. But its back lol. I look like im 95 limping and crawling around trying to muscle this tranny around lol

I will def clean up the mounting face. I went to walmart the other day to get wd40 and I couldnt believe how much 1 can has gone up! It was 5 bucks for a normal spraycan! I got the supertech for like 2 bucks

I ended up getting the good stuff. The tech at GM said there is no more dex3 its all dex 6 now.

Bye bye old flexplate

Im glad im taking it out because theres actually at least 3 cracks in the teeth above each screw. IDK if you can see them.

That looks better!

Stock TC came out pretty easy

It has some weight to it thats for sure

3 clicks! Very very easy and all 3 clicks happened in about 10 seconds on just turning it clock wise pushing in at the same time.

And inbetween 1 1/16 and 1 1/8 perfect.

Time to get this slug back up there.

Teflon tape on the cooler line fittings.

This dipstick tube really fucked me today

I really fought with this thing. I had to keep shimming it higher. If the car wasnt so high and jack wasnt in the way I could have benchpressed it by the pan no problem.

Be sure to check the measurement between the stall and flexplate too! I measured my bell - pads and i got 1 1/16, but when i got her all bolted up, it was over 3/16" gap so i had to shim it.

Hey thanks you have been a good help. I have 3 bolts started in the bellhousing and just looking at the gap it looks pretty big. Ill see what it really is when its all bolted up but exactly what do I use to shim? Whats this other thing im reading about making sure the pilot is 1/8 into the hole and if its not then extend the pilot?

Ha well I'm subscribing to this thread, I wanna see how the 3600 does for you. I'm considering the 3200 for my G8.
