Whats this other thing im reading about making sure the pilot is 1/8 into the hole and if its not then extend the pilot?
Hey, no problem at all! Ive done a ton of 6 speeds, and the auto a few times now. I just recently (last week) installed my SS3600, (Level 3 FLT). Unfortunately, i had to leave town for work before it got tuned, and fully broken in, but my wife says its running strong! lol

Not sure about the pilot part, but when you get the trans all bolted up, the way i did it was through the inspection hole in the bottom, line up a converter foot with the hole, and push the converter as far back towards the trans and measure the gap. I used a 3/16 and 3/32 drill bits.. if its BETWEEN those, your good, but if its bigger, youll need to shim the feet. I had some good washers i used to get it down below a 3/16" gap. I will say it can be a PITA to get the washer between the converter, and flexplate so if you need to, just be patient.

Hey I left a question over in the tc install thread you probly missed. I know you said the flexplate can only fit one way but what is it that keeps it not be able to install backwards? I know the bolt pattern dosent stop someone from screwing it up. I know there curve in the plate but this newer one is much different than the one I took out. Are you sure that the right way is with the GM sticker facing the trans? Anyone else wanna chime in?

I wonder how my car is gonna be on the tune it already has. I will be getting it tuned anyway cause I never got tuned after I did headers last year but just wondering how its gonna be before tune.
Yea thanks I bought a few new drill bits just for this the other day. When you say good washers what exactly do you mean? Where can I get some?
Was I supose to use locktight on the flexplate bolts and tc bolts?

Alright I got the bellhousing bolts in and electrical stuff connected. It looks like ill need to shim. The 3/16 bit fits in there not by much though. What kind of washers do I use and do I stack them or what? Where do I get them?

Get a high grade washer x3 from home depot. Most washers are .05 to .07 thick. You really need to come down .10 to .15. I'd recommend using 2 per bolt with longer bolts, which is what I have done but some will tell you to only use one washer. Finding a single washer .15 thick and graded to like 10.9 may prove difficult.

I called Dave at yank and he said just use 1/16 washers. I had a million in the basement.

Everything is done except the exhaust and new trans cooler. But I am kinda wondering why they make their bolts so damn short! Dave said it would be fine with 1/16 washer but idk what to think of it. I learned that I should have checked the bolts before installing this. So maybe I should take them out ****!

Very weird my friend I just talked to Dave at yank having the same damn issue, 3/16 slides right in but 1/8 is tight so I am guessing I need to take up .125 to get my clearence to be 1/8 inch. Dave told me DO NOT USE the ones that came with the convertor use the stock ones. Call him back to ensure!

What do you mean 3/16 slides right in but 1/8 is tight? How can that be did you type wrong? Dave never told me not to use the ones that came with the tc. He knew I had them installed and he said they are fine just as long as theres a couple threads that catch. But I have to pull them anyway to put locktight on and im gonna look at getting longer bolts or maybe cut my stock ones down if need be cause stock one look long as hell.

Keep driving, checking, and adding fluid. It takes a while for it all to circulate and get properly filled.

Yep thats what it was. But I drove like 10 miles with it REALLY low. IDK how I lost so much fluid. I ended up putting in a total of 8-9qrts and I am close right now. If not, its full now. But do you think I mesed up the trans driving 10 miles 3-4qrts low?

A total of 8-9qrts. I love the ****** thing. I just hope I didnt mess the tranny up being so low like that. It seems to drive great right now since I added about 4 qrts lol but this is my 1st time driving a stalled auto so idk if its good. The shifts are not as hard as before. And let me just mention driving this thing is no problem at all. But its to soon to say I should have gone bigger. I cant wait to break it in and do some wot!
