Exaclty man. thats what i have been seeing as well. I will let you guys know for sure.

It suxs that no code are being thrown for the slipping converter so some how the computer is commanding the converter to do it. I hate when thing get to the point i cant figure them out.

my car was slipping in OD, found out there was a hairline crack somewhere in the case of the trans, i had the tranny under warrenty so he replaced it for free he said that when it got up to normal temp the crack was letting pressure out causing the slip.

I would think that the crack would close up from the heat of the trans but i hope thats not the issue. I dont have them money for a new trans and i'll be in deep shyt

Everyone on ls1tech is in different regions and states.. some places are hotter than others, some cold. Some higher altitude some lower, Some tracks going downhill some up and etc. You cant compare anything your car is doing in say florida to someone in Colorado. No 2 cars are alike, and no matter how good the conditions are on your day at the track, someone is always gonna have a better scenario. I no its not helping the ops subject, but its pointless to compare numbers. Chris

This is interesting. I've got a very similar problem with my C5, its got a Vig3600 lock-up, 3.90 gears and a new stg 6 RPM 4L60E and it will not 60' any better than 1.78 no matter what i do with the launch. BTW this car is 434rwhp on motor. but when i turn on the 100hp N20 it works great, 1.46 60's and it acts the way it should.
The car is a complete joke on motor for about 3 car lengths off the line then it picks up cuz the engine is finally in the power of the cam aka 3600 and it works good. BTW it does lock-up on highway and all that so i know there is no problems mechanically and the all the tuning was done by Speed inc.
Recently I sent it back to Vig and had them restall it to 4000 on motor. i hope that fixes all my issues cuz my car's specs are very similar to what "bigboykilroy" has in his sig and his runs 11.34 @ 120 and mine runs 11.70 @ 119 on motor with a 1.78 60' - If i could do it over again i would of went with Yank SS4000 to begin with.

let us know what happens when you get your converter back in. The 60's should be in 1.5 with that 4000 and for the lock up it should stay locked up. Im curious to know how yours turns out.

Wow sorry i just realized i never put an update after I changed to a 4000 Vig converter. Its much better but still not what i expected, it 60's about 1.58 on motor and 1.46-1.47 on N20 right off the line with the 28" tires.

1.7, boo the foo hoo. I've never been south of 1.9
and it's all to do with traction and suspension (weight
transfer). Mickeys gave me nothing over street tires.
If you're spinning, then don't blame the converter.

you pretty much have full suspension and you cant get the power to the ground that seems like an issue. Its not like its a fully worked car you should have no issue with traction. Not trying to be je*koff either man. I never said i had any issue with traction and maybe someone else did but thats not what this thread was started for

As late as it is i did get the trans retuned and she works perfect now. My 60' still isnt great but its 1.72 now hopefully better to come.

My old SS3600 never did better than 1.62 sixty in my combo. Full weight, plus bar, against a LT1 401 making 452 rwhp. When I restalled to SS4000 the car did 1.52 first time out and dropped 2 tenths (maybe, 3 tenths, can't remember exacty it's been to long). All was well.....Some power bands need the extra extension of a bigger verter and more flash to get the weight off the line. I am in no way ******* on YANK as I have owned several of their verters over the years. I have a friend that has a 402 LS1, heads, cam and Fast (normal good build), he ran 1.47 sixty with his SS3600 first time out, full weight plus bar. Just depends on what your going to hit the converter with, and weight can make a HUGE difference with a tighter verter. The vette guys do very well with the SS3600...
