45* -6AN fittings don't fit off trani?? Help!

45* -6AN fittings don't fit off trani?? Help! Ok so doing the trans cooler with braided line install and I read a lot of poeple saying to use 45 degree fittings off the trani. I got it all together and they are hitting the trans tunnel! I used summit brand 45's swivel ends and russel trans to AN adapters. Not sure how this worked for everyone else. I am thinking of trying 60's but at almost $20 each I don't want to keep screwing around.
Are the other brands 45's shorter???
Also I read some people have issues with the 90's being too tight?

Problem is they are more than just tight. They are hitting and the trani isn't all the way up yet. I tried to play with the direction they head in, but no dice, didn't help.

in my chevelles with 4L80E's, i have been taking the stock fitting, mark the direction i want the fitting to point, then rem it, grind it down some, and get a steel 1/4 pipe to #6 AN, cut some of the pipe threads off, and weld it on to the orig fitting so it points in the direction i want-makes for the shortest fitting
i have seen a 90 deg swivel, AN 6 to pipe thread, was going to see if the Co would make up some with the trans straight threads, but i prob would have to buy a ton to get them

Went to a local shop today and checked out their fittings. The 45's they had were much shorter than the summit ones. They only had one in stock, but when I got home and test fitted it there was actually room!! So fair warning to people, the summit brand 45's might not work for your setup.

Oh trust me.. I would have gone right to the BFH mod but the trani was already all bolted in and there was no room to get up in there and swing!!
I ended up using Red Horse?? Never heard of them, but the feel like a better fitting than the summit ones and were actually cheaper.

I used 45's on my lines no problems. The line does run down low along the bell housing.
I'm sticking to the name brand fittings and hose. It is better quality.

I looked at my 45s yesterday and one is barely resting on the trans tunnel. i'm sure I could loosen it and turn it slightly and gain a bit of clearance....and I may when I get a chance.

dragging up an old thread but just saw the replies. Evo, yes that looks like it would fit. The summit ones came out straight much longer from the case. That is also a barbed fitting, so if thats the route you are going with a hose clamp even more room might be likely.
Yeah mine were a lot more than just resting, they were starting to jam and the trani wasn't all the way in place yet even.

Not worth the chance of having a transmission fluid blowout at an "inconvenient" time...and they're not any more expensive than the pushlock fittings and hoses anyway. I just have to find a new transmission cooler with 1/2" NPT fittings. Seem to be pretty common, but I planned to mount the B&M unit I have horizontally between the air dam and bumper, so I'll have to find another way to mount it or one of similar size.

Just had to figure this out myself...you need -6 AN to 1/4" NPT adapters for the transmission, then connect them to 45* -6 AN fittings, then run -6 AN line to your transmission cooler. Transmission coolers with 1/2" NPT seem to be the most common that have readily available adapters to connect to the -6 AN line. You'll need two -6 AN to 1/2" NPT adapters for the transmission cooler.
