Default HELP NEEDED!! 2-3 shift on limiter still...RPM

I'm new with all this so I apologize in advance if I sound ignorant.... 2001 corvette coupe... Heads/cam/fast90-NEW RPM levelV 4l60,NEW yankss3600,built diff. 3.73.......... My tuner has tried everything but I'm still hitting the limiter on my 2-3 shift.....The fluid level is full... I've triple checked.... Every shift is nice and hard and there is no slipping. On the log in 2nd gear it passes the commanded mph/rpm without going into 3rd.... We've set the mph/rpm low to see if it would shortshift, but it still hits the limiter... Sorry I don't have the log with me but I wanna say the mph is set around 72, and rpm is set at 6000..... And my limiter is set at 7,000.. I'm at a lost and am about to pull my hair out....I've contacted RPM Transmission and they are almost positive its in the tune.... Any ideas are welcome. Car went 11.1@122 so fixing this SHOULD put me in the 10s..... Thanks Chad

Not sure what your tuner adjusted but does ur full thottle mph match the part throttle tables. Like said I'm not sure what your tuner adjusted.

I'm pretty sure they match. I wish I knew more about the tune that's in it..

My tuner has tuned a ton of cars. From mild to wild.... I'm hoping he just missed a table somewhere...

72 sounds way too high. Mine (similar setup) is at about 60 at 6k, 65/7 at 6500. You must meet mph FIRST, then rpm. So back your mph down off the 70s man. Seeing a tune and/or a log would help us to see what is actually happening.

Thanks for the reply....sorry I don't have logs... I know it's hard to trouble shoot without them.... I'm going to my local track tommorow.... So I will get some logs and try lowering the mph..... I wanna say we had it close to 60mph at one point......

Are your part throttle, 100% TPS column and your WOT
shift MPH consistent?

Went to the track tonight. Still hitting limiter 2-3.... My tuner adjusted....WOT Upshift 2-3 down to 65mph and my WOT rpm 2-3 to 5900.... It satisfies the mph and rpm and still doesn't shift. All the WOT tables and part throttle tables match,,,,,, I'm at a lost. My 3-2 downshift is at 61 mph. So it's lower than my upshift. Any ideas????? He looked through the tranny tune and said everything looks good and can't figure out why it's not shifting..... Limiter is at 7000

My tranny started off as a Level 4 back in late 06", it went behind my GF's H/C Z/28, and I posted up about the issues we were having right after install here...

https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic...ft-points.html

it turned out to be a bad EPC solenoid... Once fixed the tranny was flawless and never gave us another issue until....

My GF put a 427 in her Z/28 and it did not like it at all.... it was slipping a little and would not shift, again....out it came and back to RPM for a re-fresh and an upgrade to level 5 specs...In the mean time a FLT level 7 went behind the 427 and when the RPM came back it went behind my stock SS with a 4K stall and has run great until...

I just threw on a set of heads and cam that I had in the garage on it and now it won't do the 2-3 shift again...lol. We are going to replace the above solenoid next week and hope it fixes it.

Thanks for the reply.... What's involved in changing out the EPC solenoid? Me and my tuner have tried everything..... You would think if you pay $2500 for a transmission , it would have a new/working solenoid..... I'm getting frustrated with this thing...

As stated in the other thread, I believe you can swap it out by removing the pan.

UPDATE...... Still hitting limiter 2-3. We have the commanded mph at 65 and RPM at 5900.... And the downshift at 61, so it's lower than the upshift...... My tuner says the tranny tune looks good...... I'm starting to get very frustrated. Hopefully performabuilt or flt will chime in!!!!! Thanks guys. I also race the car in 3rd.... If that makes a difference.

What does you main pressure table for the 2/3 look like? Is it stock? What does the log say for actual mph at 5900?

Take another 3mph out of both tables on the tune.
Start out in D and then hit OD once car is second gear. Let us know if that works-if it does its def the tune.

If you can have your tuner send me the tune and at least 2 representative logged passes at the track I will take a look at the files and related tables and make recommendations. I know that Rodney and the folks at RPM build sick stuff and don't mind lending a hand. I don't mind speaking to your Tuner either if you would like to have him give me a shout. No doubt he has seen this before, but sometimes we miss something... and the devil is in the details with these systems.
