Ok guys i have a project car and i need some help sorting some things out. I have a 92 240sx that im doing a GM LS V8 swap on. I got a steal of a deal on a radiator but it doesn't have provisions for a auto trans. My question is what side or how big does the trans cooler need to be? The bumper im using has two large holes in the lower bumper for air flow.. What do you think?
Thanks

you should use the flat blade cooler, theyre more efficient.. Fluidyne makes a nice one and you can get them on ebay for about $45 shipped... Im putting in my new built tranny with stall next weekend and this is the cooler Ill be using... the sweet spot is 200degrees in the pan... believe it or not, bigger is NOT always better...

Unless you're running a high stall you don't need a monstrous cooler. A medium-sized one will be fine. Focus more on finding one that fits well and gets good airflow.
Both the plate style and tube-and-fin style do well. Plate is a little heavier and cools a little better, allowing you to run a slightly smaller cooler. Tube and fin is a little lighter, usually less expensive, and comes in a wide variety of shapes and sizes.
