Default buying tranny need options

Looking to pick up a 4L60E for the car was wondering what are some good options. I have looked at a few sponsors just looking for some feedback on them. Not interested in building one just want a drop in good for around 600-700RWHP so i can use a 150 Shot. What are you guys running, and good or bad luck with them? Any info will help thanks in advance.

RPM All the way!!

Best company I have EVER had the pleasure of dealing with! Ive been running their T56 since March 2006, and its been perfect! Customer service is also second to NONE!

I am running an FLT Level 3 60e, and I have absolutely NO complaints with the build (it replaced a Performabuilt with issues) but I only picked one up due to RPM being too far out on their build time.

Shoot Jeremy@RPMTransmissions a PM, and talk to him about exactly what your plans are mod wise, and use. He will be able to point you to exactly what you need, and what you dont.

I spoke with Gilbert Olson with ACE years ago about getting a built 4L60E. Great guy to talk with unfortunately my finances just weren't in order at the time to get the trans. I just noticed he is no longer a sponser. Anybody know what happened there?

Gilbert does a bunch of high end Pro-Mod type Powerglides and I think he is staying busy with that stuff so maybe let his sponsorship lapse.
It's pretty expensive to sponsor the forums so you have to balance your advertising costs with the work it brings in, and in some cases if you even want the work.

Gilbert is a pretty small operation and he may be busier than a one armed paper hanger. I know we are.

We are offering 4L60E's now but I haven't really mentioned it here because of our current 4 week backlog.

I figured as much. He's a really nice guy and answered all of my questions and more (heck sent him a PM...not but an hour later got a phone call so he could answer my questions in more detail). I'm hoping to start getting my car together by the end of this year.

I chose to go with FLT after doing a lot of research. ACE and RPM were heavily considered as well. I would call the companies you are considering and talk through what you want and go with the one you feel most comfortable with.

FLT or RPM. I decided to go with an flt lvl3 in my car because itll never see the track. Chuck was more than helpful helping me out. i also sent my ss3600 to them straight from yank to get dyno tested with the tranny. cant go wrong with either tho. call around to see what places have to say. remember...you get what you pay for.

I rate my 4L60-65 transmissions at a maximum HP of 750HP. My professional opinion would be to go with a 4L80E which would be much stronger and cheaper for your application. If you have any other question, don't hesitate to call or email.

Thanks,

I agree a 4L80E may be a better long term solid option, are are cheaper to build for High Horsepower (650+)
