Default 4l80e PCM & HPtuners

so apparently you have to get a .bin file or something and have the pcm edited to run the 4l80. it seems to be one of the more difficult parts of the swap to under take. I am just curious if any of you have any contacts, names, or numbers to someone who walks through this like butter. Word is the guys at HP are the ones who have to do it, because our version of HP will not allow for such changes to be made.

I am just preparing myself. I dont like humps in the road.

Email them your file and tell them you want a 4l80e segment swap. Do a search, that has been discussed many times already. I know I discussed it in my budget 4l80 build thread. Slow67 did in his thread, etc. They will take care of it at hp tuners for you.

We've seen a LOT of issues with the segment swaps lately. I'm not sure why but it seems like the segment isn't getting completely swapped.

Nothing wrong with either method of doing it, but just something to be aware of.

It's really easy to do. I was going to do the segment swap but seems like it was going to be more of a hassle.

Its no hassle at all. . . You send a file to hptuners, they send it back with the segment swap, then you flash it into the pcm. Pretty easy IMO.

If you want the TCC to remain locked on throttle release the sub-harness can be altered a little so you can run the 4L60E F-body calibration (2-3 SS signal has to be inverted, TCC PWM has to be driven from TCC ON/OFF signal, 3-2 control signal is removed).

IF it works properly, but lately it hasn't been that easy for many of my customers. There seems to be a problem getting a successful complete segment swap done.

well the whole purpose of the thead, was to find out, (due to my assumption) if after all this time, anyone actually had it down to a science yet. Guess its just like calling tech support, sometimes you get a rookie with a manual, sometimes you get a guy whos done it for 20 years and doesnt need the manual.

Are any of the HP tuner guys on the forums?
