How do i unlock a lock -up converter
I got a 1995 4L60E with the pwm pump.I was wondering how can I disable the lock-up feature in the trans? for testing and maybe even permanently, And if your wandering why, I'm having a problem with it stalling when I shift into reverse and drive I can get it to move down the road and it shift very hard & well into all gears but when I come to a stop and hold the brakes at the stops it wants to die also king of chuggs& tuggs a little at low speeds. This leads me to believe there is something wrong with the TCC feature aka-lock-up.This is a fresh rebuild with a new TCI lock-up converter and a PCMforless tune.

you can do it in the tune or by snipping the wire going to the lockup circuit, but i would get a good scanner on it and see if its the TCC or not first. sounds more like an idle issue to me, maybe a slow IAC motor.

The tcc valve in the pump may be stiking causing convertor to stay locked at all times, makes shifts very hard & feels like you forgot to put the clutch in if it was a manual trans when slowing down.
You said it was a fresh build so check this valve first, could have been misassembled or may have debris left from before build

The smaller hole is the TCC valve; the larger hole is the Boost valve.

OH! I got you, I remember seeing that, but the trans is coming out any how.
I thought it was the longer converter clutch valve not the pressure regulator valve that's with boost valve.

The parts in there look like a very basic shift kit. I don't think it is the cause of your problem.
I confirmed I had a converter problem by ensuring there was no TCC apply fluid by doing two things:
1. Removed the TCC apply valve on the pump and removed its o-ring.
2. Reinstalled the TCC apply valve with 1/8" spacers to make sure it was
no sealing in any way. (I would have removed it completely were it not wired to the harness.)

Ya, I tried it and it didn't work so I'm going to install a REVMAX stage 3-3600 nitrous stall converter and see if this clears up my problem if not it's has to be something bleeding across in the hydraulics.I just don't get it! It shifts real good and hard but the dam thing still stalls out when shifted into gear from park or neutral.

With that test made, I am very confident that replacing the converter will solve your problem.
