Default Want to get my speedometer back after a th400 swap

Anyone know what I can do to hook up my factory speedo to my turbo 400 trans. It's a 1998 z28 with a modified 98 harness and an 02 PCM. I do not have abs now. I would like to use one of the front wheel speed sensors to get my signal for the speedo. Anyone done this? Thanks

Why not just use an inline speedo cable VSS like Jags that run or Dakota digital sale?

I have a rossler turbo 400 that has no cable drive assembly nor the proper tail shaft housing to hook one up.

I did it in my car. Worked like a champ as long as you adjust the speedo table in hp tuners.

The speedo in a 400 goes in the case not the tail. Prolly has a freeze plug installed there.

I just put a reluctor wheel from Midwest chassis on my rear end yoke. Made a bracket to hold the sensor. Works great. I'd rather have it for the rear tires than front.

Why does everybody try to get all elaborate? The TH400 came in vehicles with electronic speedometers. All you need is the STOCK reluctor wheel and the STOCK vehicle speed sensor. The only thing you need to modify/change is the plug on the harness so it will plug into the older style VSS. Hell, if your car was originally equipped with a 4L60E (or an 80E for you truck guys) then you don't even need to do any tuning. It boggles my mind that people are jumping through hoops or trying to reinvent the wheel when it comes to getting the speedo to work after a TH400 swap. It's soooo simple.

Because some people have the tranny's without the internal sensor already in there car. Obviously if the sensor or wheel was there they wouldn't look for other ways.

Holy hell, so buy it and install it! It's a lot less hassle and expense then buying an aftermarket reluctor wheel set up and fabbing up some brackets to hold a sensor. Really, it's not hard and you don't even need to pull the tranny to do it.

I'm going through Dakota digital with these 2 part numbers.
SGI-5 84.95
SEN-01-1 29.95

I am putting a 200 4r in my car and don't want to lose abs.ill report back when its finished but that will be a month or so.

Lonnie at Extreme Automatics built my 200-4r with a stock 4l60e speed sensor in the tail. ~$150 for the work and sensor.

He is doing mine as well. I asked about it and he is who suggested Dakota digital.
Are you running one of his converters also?

Jakes modified a stock 4l60e ring and put it in my 400. I found the sensor online and added a pigtail and my speedo works in my 98 TA
