PTC Converters

PTC Converters
Have a few questions regarding PTC, first are they a good brand? Seems like people like them. Another question, i found a 9.5" PTC 3600 stall for sale for $400 shipped, the guy says the previous owner had it sent to PTC and gone through so everything is fresh, but im not sure if he has any proof of this, does this seem like a good deal?
Thanks,
Chris

I have one in a 1989 TTA and I had one in my LS6 Cobra Kit car and both work excellent. My son just put a 3600 stall in his 2002 Z28 and could not be happier. I have one in my new LS408 turbo/Powerglide build also but have not started the car yet.
I would agree that for the price difference I would just buy a new one. I used Dusty Bradford for all three of ours. Excellent

I am interested to know about this also. I am talking with them about getting a converter. I had plans on ordering one today or maybe Monday... all the local guys seem to use and like them.

I wouldn't hesitate. They have always set me up with a good converter every time I have ordered through them. I have one in my current car, my brother has one and a couple of locals with turbo 4V modular engines have them and we all like them. For the price, being local and the amount of proven results.... I would go with them.

I'd buy a new one if he wanted 400$ though.. They are only 550$ shipped and that includes a trans cooler.

$550 that must not be a billet converter?? I'm looking to purchase a converter today or tomorrow. I was also looking at ptc converter fti converters and circle d?

PTC is a great converter company. Don't be afraid of their stuff. It may not be a billet cover, but a billet cover isn't absolutely necessary depending on power level and tuning.

This car is pretty much going to be a street/street car.
I ran a circle d with my 4l60 and it was good. There couple guys who run yanks around here. How u do compare this $450 stall to a yank converter?

I've been stirred up about converters over the last two days.
One thing I want to add to this thread. Give them time to call you back. This is the busiest time of year in this industry. It can be difficult to talk with customers and get any work done.
