Default Fti 3800 hard hit or yank ss3600

Which converter will hit harder and yield better track times?

The yank 3600 stall with a 2.5 STR?

Or the FTI 3800 Hard Hit with a 2.35 STR?

From what I have seen fti makes a better performing converter.

Iirc they also build to order instead of an off the shelf kind of deal.

FTI 3800 "regular" would be more streetable. HH is more race oriented. Both perform. I think the HH is more like a PT series and the regular is more like the SS in terms of "looseness."

I'd go FTI...

what kind of 60 foots have u pulled man? Is it loose on the street? I really liked how my old SS3600 was loose on the street. it would jerk a lot.

I have a custom spec'ed FTI 3600 2.35 STR, very streetable with 2.73 gears.

I have a yank 3600ss and its a nice convertor but I plan on sending it to FTI eventually to be rebuilt and changed to a 4k convertor. I would definitely go with FTI!

I would not consider the SS3600 to be loose at all really. It's much tighter than any other brand aftermarket stall I've experienced.

You can spray any of FTI's billet converters for the most part, but when you order Greg will custom make one and assign it a name if it doesn't exist already or isn't off the shelf known. For example in my case I was leaning towards an SRLS0086 because it was a 3600 stall with a 1.78 STR so it's easier on the tires and more efficient up top but with 2.73 gears it would be kinda loose so I wanted something that would tighten it up a little bit for daily driving. Greg made an SRLS3391 for me, a ~3600 stall with 2.35 STR. Drives almost like stock to me.

Just shoot him an email, PM, call.
