Mine is in the pressure port, has been for a couple years now with no issues.

Nothing wrong with that as long as you be careful over tightening it into the case!

If I didnt have an aeroforce scan gauge Id weld a bung into the pan. I'm curious how much different the temp readings would be between the pressure port,pan, and stock temp sensor in the valve body. All I know is that the pan readings are usually the lowest.

HPTuners and my pan gauge were off by about 10 degrees IIRC. In my eyes that's an acceptable margin of error between two completely different sensor makers. The stock sensor is in the valvebody which is basically in the pan so the readings should be the same.
