Default trans temp sender...

hey guys, I just read through all the old posts on this and read quite a few posts about a bolt half way up the tranny that the sender will fit right into.

does anyone have any pics of their install, so I can see it before I start?(the sender, NOT the gauge..) If not, exactly which bolt is it? measurements would be nice if possible

thanx in advance!

heres an easy way to spot it. slide under the car from the drivers side. find the pan, and then look up about 4 inches. its a bolt just sitting there. theres nothing connected to it. its just sitting there.

It is a pressure port that mechanics can run a gauge to messure line pressure.

You will not get an accurate reading from that spot.
Here is what i did.

Go to Autozone ( similar part store) and get a B&M drain plug kit.
remove your tranny pan & drill a hole 1/2 in. in diameter. Install the adapter to the pan & instead of using the drain plug, place the sender in it. Works Great & you will get a "true" reading of the fluid. JMO!! Good luck.

Think about it....
Is the fluid running up there?? Consistantly??
What of the volume of fluid?

Now, how bout the pan? Would you say the fluid is consistant @ all times?

Pretty straight forward IMO.

You drilled the "pan" or your just saying take of the pan and drill the housing?
