Exclamation Anyone run the Trick Flow Deep pan?

Trick Flow TFS-1018

Went to install this pan on my 4l70 for the trailblazer and it hits the filter on the front of the pan.

Without filter, fits fine

Filter in

View of the filter in the pan, you can see the relief cut in the pan for it to fit, seems to be not enough.

Spoke with trick flow, they said they have never had this issue. But being a cast unit, I would think they would all have to be the same. The instructions dont mention anything about which filter to run. So since I had a factory deep truck pan, i ordered the same OEM filter. Running it with their provided extension. I think if I ran the filter for a car pan it may clear the pan, its not a depth issue though.

Thoughts, my fresh trans is waiting on this one stupid part so I can drive her again! trans is in, just need a pan that fits.

I suspect it is not designed to run the truck filter, probably wants the car filter. Why not go to a trans shop and have them bring out a truck, car and vette filter. You will then see the difference and should be able to decide which will work.

I had a TCI deep pan that came with prongs to support
a car filter. I wanted to run the truck filter so I ground
those down by the pickup length difference.

Now I just use a straight steel truck pan. The point of
having a deep pan, and having a car-style filter not any
deeper in the juice, eludes me.
