Default New LS1Tech sponsor

What's up everybody? We're a little late to the game here, but better late than never right? We're new sponsors to LS1Tech but definitely not new members and many of you probably know us already.

Let's tell you about who we are and what we do though. We're North Texas Converter located in Justin, TX just a few minutes down the road from Texas Motor Speedway for all of you DFW Texas members. We're a pretty new shop but not new to the industry and especially not to GM drivetrains.

Our converters are cutting edge with excellent options ranging from stock to mild, to billet units to Pro Mod bolt-together style converters. We have clients in the Pro Mod circuit, some on the TV show Street Outlaws and a few members that are certainly floating around here

Don't let our name fool you, we also highly specialize in GM RWD transmissions and are quite proud of our work with the 4L80E and the TH400. We have made extensive research and development breakthroughs with both of them, but especially the 4L80E.

Some of our contributions to the market include, but are not limited to:
  • 4L80E transbrake (v.1 manual low engagement-style)
  • 4L80E Manual Control Harness
  • 4L80E "Relay Mod" (A popular option for '98 F-body PCM guys to retain automatic control or an alternative to convential swap control methods)
  • Prototype 4L80E Standalone Controller
  • Designed/tested (successfully!) the only spragless 4L80E ever produced
  • Several powerflow/hard part modifications soon to be released
  • And last but definitely not least, we will soon be releasing a whole new brake. It is a full autoshift brake that can lock in any forward gear. Current testing has lead us to believe that not only is it the fastest engaging brake of this style, but also the fastest releasing. Install is fairly simple.

Our converters and transmissions are reasonably priced at this time despite the high quality in an effort for us to gain more exposure. We are looking for (preferably local if possible) candidates to test out our new transbrake. Anyone interested please shoot us a PM.

As of this writing we have no failures on any transmissions or converters for the last year+ of business and many happy customers to back us up.

If you're interested in a badass setup that you will set you ahead of the rest, give us a call or PM anytime and we'll set you up

A few pictures of our products we recently snapped to give you an idea. Here's a base build 4WD unit

Usually our converters are purple too but we just recently ran out of purple paint and are awaiting a new shipment from our supplier.

Check us out on Facebook at www.facebook.com/NorthTexasConverter1

Have a good one!

Well thank you Zane! We had a few small delays and technically our new and final shop logo won't be completed until during this week but oh well We got tired of waiting.

And from my experience with these guys so far, they know their stuff. Plenty of knowledge I have gained about the 80E in conversation with Steven, I'll be trying one out soon.

Glad to see you guys are sponsors here now. I haven't gotten my 80e installed yet but the customer service was excellent throughout my experience. Communication was always great and Steven was always very helpful. I will be in contact in the near future to have the converter restalled for my new setup.

James.

Hey James it's been awhile man! Good to hear from you! We'll be looking forward to seeing how you like the trans, and it sounds like we'll be in touch with you again soon for the converter haha!

I'm at the shop full time now so next time you call you'll get me and won't have to call my cell phone

Awesome. Glad to see you guys are thriving and growing as a business.

You know I bounced back and forth forever on the procharger or turbo situation but I finally settled on the turbo setup, 2 of them to be exact lol. Unfortunately I didn't make up my mind until I already had the converter setup for the procharger build. The procharger stuff is sold and turbo parts have been purchased so theres no turning back now. At least now I have all the specs and can have the converter built more specific for my combo this time around.

I'm hoping I will be able to put the 80e to the test late fall/ next spring. I've got a huge project ahead of me lol.

James

Oh yeah you do. If you remember me mentioning that I'm a huge Procharger fan myself, then you know that although I may be slightly disappointed in you, I fully understand your decision to go turbo in the quest for huge power

Should have sold me your Procharger parts though haha!

Thank you James! We'll definitely send you a t-shirt man, you were with us from the beginning early on, and we appreciated the fact you gave a non-established company a shot

He's one of the two owners of this company, so feel free to hit us up for any automatic related things. We're not looking to get into doing manuals ourselves for business but the owner is looking to rebuild his Corvette's tranny as well as a few others we know who need to rebuild their T-56's so there's a decent chance we'll be giving you a holler in the near future

I most certainly have corresponded with JT many times in the past. He is a great guy!

He really helped me a lot and in turn I was able to help many others with the information he passed along to me. Very grateful for that as building boost with my 80e the way he showed me I could do it made cutting a perfect light possible. Where as there was no way it would of happened before just sitting on the transbrake.

Shoot us an email at the address in my signature when the time comes for the T-56 build(s) and we'd be more than happy to work with you guys!

Daayyuuummm smokey! Those are some pretty good deals ya have there. Ya just need some exposure like you said. Glad to see you on board. Keep quality control and customer service at the top of your list and you'll do good. Good luck to you guys. Got some pretty stiff competition in this part of the game for sure but it's good to have that. That's what makes companies better. Good luck. Details on converters ?
