changing trans fluid ?
my other question is...if i wanted to change the trans fluid. could i just drop the pan, let it drain, and then refill it? is there and kind of write up when it comes to changing the trans fluid?
thanks J

edit: this is what i do if my fluid looks ok. if its a little burnt, i would make sure to drain the torque converter AND blow out the tranny cooler lines too. (just something to remember)

I assume you could probably just buy the pan gasket if you were not going to change the filter at the same time.
I did change the filter, and it was a pain in the ***!
Let me rephrase that. The filter is a piece of cake, its the seal that comes with the filter that is REALLY difficult to replace, and I'm not sure how necessary it is to replace the filter seal. For that matter, I'm not sure how necessary it is to replace the filter. I cut my old filter open after replacing it and it had a few small metal flakes / particles. It was nowhere near clogged. I had about 15,000 miles on the car at the time. YMMV if you have a lot of miles on the car...
