Default T56 to 4L80E Swap Wiring Question

I'm doing a T56 to 4L80E conversion on a 2001 Camaro SS. I'm using a Speartech "T56 to 4L80E" harness and need to know where the best place to land the PINK "12V IGN" wire would be. It is the only one that does not give an exact location to land it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Not too many people here know exactly where the Ignition-On wire is in a 1970 Datsun 240-Z. You might want to figure which wire to splice into based on an electrical diagram of the car. There probably was an original wire which went to the distributor or coil; just make sure there is no resistor in that wire. Or check the wires from the ignition switch and figure out which ones are only hot when the ignition is on. I would pick one which is also hot in the Start position, but this is not critical for the trans.

When we wire one, we tie into one of the PCM 12V supply wires. They are usually pink but there are a couple that are pink that are sensor wires.

When you decide to work on a car, it's up to you to do the research and "figure it out". That's what technicians do every day. It amazes me that it's expected and that many people would rely on an "internet consensus" rather than look it up.

Speartech doesn't likely assign this because different cars/PCM's are different. You could also run it to the fuse/relay center.

It's going to be a pink wire at the pcm connector. With the connector unplugged, take a test light to the terminal on the end of the wire. It should have power to it with the key on run and start positions and no power with key off. That simple.

Yessum, brown is labeled "PCM RED 2". I apologize for delay as it has been awhile. I was not being rude, I just haven't checked back for awhile.
