Default 4L60 with trans brake

im sure some will give hell for this idea buuuut just seeing what people have done with this setup and if its held up for them

has anyone built or has a 4L60 with a transbrake and if so how is it and any problems?

car will have 450rwhp (give or take). again. just getting some info. seeings what people have done, something diff lol

koolrayz was running a 4L60E with transbrake,don't know if his current car has it.

yea i saw that. old thread tho.

plus anther thing to take into account is weight of the car. mine will be full weight. not sure if his was gutted out.

I run a Finish line level 7 4l60 with a t-brake. Been in the car for about 5 years, 13k hard street miles and probably 50 passes in the low tens high 9s. Turbo car with 900whp.

I say go for it, I am sending it back to flt to be freshened up this winter. Car weighs about 3900lbs too.

Chuck at Flt recommended I send it in ever season to get it looked over and clutches replaced. This is only due to the fact that I drive the car to the track and back (300 miles) and need to to be dead ***** reliable. Also its a 900whp car that weighs 3900lbs, that's asking a lot from a 4l60.

I haven't sent it in in 5 years, lol. Its been fine. It is slipping now but I still went 9.9 4 times last week with it slipping and drove home. Most reliable part of my car. Its going in for a long over due freshen. He also in the last 5 years came up with some new tricks to make them last even longer.

I love FLT.

yea i want be making anything near that power level so it shouldnt be so harsh on mine. plus i dont mind replacing soft parts every 5 years. its when hard parts come into play is when it gets expensive lol

Ya never had any hard part issues. One thing I would invest in is a little fan on your trans cooler. And run the biggest cooler you can get. My trans doesn't get over 185 ever.
