Thumbs up 4L60E transbrake is installed 9 sec pass

weekend before last I installed the Rossler transmission with the first ever rossler 4l60 trans brake. Tested the brake a couple times in the drive way it holds immediatly and lets off perfectly. Drove it around all week all the shift points stayed the same it shifts with the factory computer just like clockwork, you would never know the car had a brake in it
So i took it to the track sunday, it was opening day and they were packed the track prep was pathetic and to top it off in my infinite wisdom i didnt bring my slicks. I wanted to try out my new 17x315 drag radials. well the brake worked great but is all i managed to do was blow the tires off nine ways to hell It does appear the converter stalls about 800 rpm higher than I ever saw on my logs without the break. I cant tell for sure because i had the converter loosened up 400rpm when i sent it in to be checked. It stalls at 4400 on motor so it should be a wild ride when i get it on the slicks watch out bumper cause here i come. The bad news is im going on a 7 day cruise to mexico this weekend and dont think ill get the car out again untill i get back damn vacations getting in the way of drag racing this is bullshit

Its the stock valve body with a valve body piggy backed onto it, B&M deep pan a must to make room for it. stock shifter, shift patern, the shift points didnt change, still shifting off the stock pcm

As of currently, yes. Rossler patented a TB for all 'E' model transmission, as printed on their flyer and I believe their website.

went to norwalk monday
The rental got cut short due to water on the track in the morning but we still had a good time and i got 6 passes in 3 on motor and 3 on the gas.
My new best on motor was a 11.08 at 121. with a 1.49 60' my best 60 before the brake was a 1.7 on motor. the converter stalls at 4800 on the brake I floor the car when i see the first yellow light its stalled up and hang on at the green all i can say is WOW does it hit. I have some suspension tuning to due to get it to hookup better on the juice. my nitrous is locked out when the brake is applied and comes on when the brake is released I have the NX mazimizer. The first 2 nitrous passes i just blew the tires off. the third was a 1.44 60' almost no nitrous in first gear so it would hook. it also cuts out do to rpm well before the end of the run so i have to make some more adjustments but i did get a new best 10.07 at 136.48 time to put the 300 jets in and get the tune and niotrous setpoints adjusted. looks like my first 9 is right around the corner.

yes he does, but you have to drill the vavle body for it to work.......... not any tranny shop can do this.... he is working on the "install kit" for it so any good tranny shop should be able to do it but if they **** it up your goign to need a new vavle body.... i can hopfully drive my car home this summer for him to install it

Carl has only made one small production run on these to date. He still has to work out an install kit. The 4l60 has 2 passages for reverse where the 4l80 valve body only has one it's more complicated than it was for the 4l80. There are also "cushions" installed in reverse that have to be removed. He has sold a number of the brakes alone for the 4l80 no telling how long it will be before he sells the 4l60 stand alone. I would give him a call as I'm sure demand will dictate the timeframe.
Turbo V6 camaro,
please dont post non-sponsor links. This is a tech tread about a new innovation not a sales thread as Rossler is unfortunately not a site sponsor.

engages reverse while in first to lock trans. This way you force your converter to stall higher

I have a small button at the steering wheel. when it is depressed it engages the solenoid that applies forward and reverse at the same time. Many people use a 2 step to set the rpm. I floor the car and allow it to stall all the way up. when i release the button the power comes off releasing reverse and all hell breaks loose

Huge difference on a pro tree. Havent been out lately do to my move last month. I have been working on the old house and trying to unpack at the new house plus we had 2 shutdowns at work so its been mandatory overtime up the a$$. Next month there are 3 track rentals at norwalk

Question on the reation times. How exactly does this work? You still hold the brake or or do you hold the tran brake button and gas but no footbrake and release to go?
holing the button lock the tranny in 1st and reverse at the same time, then you floor the car and the motor stalls up to what the TC will alow or you can use a 2-step

then you simply let go of the button and hold the F on..... and hope you hook lol

car doesnt roll at all. I stage with the foot brake as soon as the car is staged i depress the "button" and let go of the foot brake and floor the car. Release the button and try not to swallow my tongue lol
