Default 4kstall

Just out of curiosity will a 4kstall diminish low end torque, and mid range torque. What I have going on is a car that feels like there's no seat of the pants feeling from 40 rolls, 60 rolls, and jelly rolls I'm getting nothing. Its only from a dead stop and a heavy foot that you can feel the car hauls.

Confused by your post ! Are you saying that you have a 4K stall and it feels bad in those situations or are you asking will a 4K stall will change those situations ?

Yeah generally it feels sluggish till the converter couples (directs all the power through it) which happens around stall rpm. So anything under that is gonna feel mushy.

Yeah that's what I'm saying, I have a 4kstall and it's not giving any seat of the pants feeling until l hit the 4k Mark. Even then its not that exciting. From a dead stop its fun like in a quater mile. I'm wondering if a can swap can fix the seat of the pants feeling. Currently it has a tsp torquer2 cam

That's just how bigger converters behave. Give it some time youll get used to it. And give it more gas to get moving quicker.

Well I'm hoping my 5c for my 80e doesn't feel like that!.
I have a 8" treemaster in my nova now in a t350 and it drives totally normal.
It will/does smoke the tires at 50mph without the kickdown hooked up.
You didn't mention what gear ratio you have .
I have 4.30's and that will make a difference how the converter "feels" vs 3.08's/3.42's
How long has it been in?
They can tighten it up for you?
I think it also depends on what STR (?) is in it also. I wanted the hard hit type like the one I currently have.

I have 3.23s. I've had it for a little while. I'm suspecting that there are many factors involved in why I don't get the seat of the pants feeling. Could be just the wrong setup... I was mainly trying to see if 4kstalls normally feel that way.

I have a 4k stall... FTI 9.5" lockup. I also have 4.10s, and the thing with stalls this high is they're going to slip until they get close to their stall speed. That's any converter. It's just much more noticeable in a street car with a 4k versus say a 2800 stall. Thats because 4k is above most driver's normal driving habits.

When I put my stall in, I had 2.73s and it took a lot of gas to get up to 55 mph. 4.10s isnt as bad, but it still slips. But my car is a weekend car with drag race suspension, so that's what i want from my car. If i was more focused on street driving, I would go with a lower stall speed.
