Why do you think that a built 80e would suddenly stop shifting?
I'm pretty confused as to your reasoning.

There are 2000 HP cars running the 80e. The first three gears are basically the same as a TH400.

I had zero issues with any shifts besides my own programming with a D3 valve body and I'm just under 1100whp. Not that I could put that boost through it in first gear, but at 12psi I bet it's easily 700 to 800whp on the 1-2 shift

My car isn't the street car that I thought it was going to be. So I'm taking advantage of some weight savings, and the new 1 st gear ratio the glide will give me. I was launch limited on both rpm and boost, if I left with to much it would be wheels up, and if I wasn't shifting by the tree I could hit the rev limiter in first gear
