After having nightmares with my sons 200r4 (not tv related tho)I would install one of these.
You still need to hook the (formally) TV cable up but it's just for shift points.
Sorry it doesn't answer your question directly tho.

TV made EZ kit
The main downside is you have to use a first generation cable throttle body with the little half-circle on the back side. It's easy to tell the difference between the two.
I'm using this kit on my 6.0 install in my 84 Trans Am.

I used the stock bracket for the TV cable and bolted it down at one of the fuel rail hold-downs on the passenger side, and then welded a nipple onto the throttle cam and clipped on the cable.
Took maybe 4 minutes.

The TV, or throttle valve cable is a mechanical linkage in the trans that is hooked to the throttle body. In a nut shell, It pulls against a spring in the valve body when the throttle is moved opening and closing a valve in the trans. this increases/decreases pressure in the valvebody telling the transmission when to shift.
incorrectly set will give you poor pressures and burn up the clutches in the transmission.
in 1993 they changed the nomenclature from 700r4 to 4l60. In 1994 they transitioned to the electronically controlled **** and renamed it a 4l60e.
It's otherwise nearly identically as far as hard parts inside. Even the newer 4l65e and 4l70e is basically the same internally. Just a few minor changes with planetaries and some other parts but that's it.

Thank you for the explanation. Since the 4l60e is electronic, there is no TV cable?

Gotcha. Thanks. I am swapping an LS 5.3/4l60e (drive-by-wire) into a Jeep and just heard the phrases "TV cable" and "Kickdown" the other day, and it threw me for a loop. I hadn't heard those phrases before.
