Default What converter would fit me best

I have a 98 Camaro 4l60e with all bolt ons 3.73 gears I would like to do a cam later on I go to the track about twice a year and the rest is weekend warrior on the street so pretty much I'm looking for a converter that will be very well-mannered on the street but will give me the ET I want at the track from my research it seems that the Yank ss4000 would be the converter for me but a few people have recommended FTI is there something that makes fti better for my application and what are your opinions???

I have 373's in my A4 bolt on car and it has a vigilante 3600 , nice convertor but would go bigger if anything especially if your thinking cam down the road. Your research has led you to a pretty damn good conclusion with ss4000 .

Circle d gets mentioned with their 5e ?? I think it is that is a similar stall supposed to be tight at idle but flash excellent , I think that is a billet multi disc too so you can lock the convertor at wot to get better trap/et less heat from slippage if you lock it up from 2nd gear on

street tightness/looseness is affected by rear gear ratio,STR ratio, engine power/torque at just above idle. comparing the looseness/tightness of a particular brand of convertor in one particular car to the looseness/tightness of a different brand of convertor in a different car is not a true comparison.

keep in mind most quality convertor vendors offer 1 free restall , you see more people go up from a 3600 than down from a 4000 - start high , get your best times if its too much you generally have a year to get it re stalled.

Only Yank-Dave. Yank builds a convertor for an order, does not build a bunch of them to stock at a distributor/retail outlet. Dave will occasionally post a 'convertor sale',that's when I bought mine.

well lets touch base back on the fti converter ... ss4000 vs fti4000 is one going to be tighter on the street ? an does one usually have a better ET? in a bolt on Camaro ls1 3.73 gears
