Moving to automatic section.

Did it go on 3 clicks? Also, you need to measure the depth to make sure it's seated all the way.

Is the transmission installed to the motor yet?

Did it measure 1.125” from bellhousing to converter pads using a straight edge/caliper? It can vary upto .050" I believe. But you need to check. You can damage the transmission otherwise

Was the converter seated ALL the way in prior to bolting trans up?

The converter should spin freely on the trans both before and after it's installed in the car. If you installed the converter on the input shaft of the trans but didn't get it seated completely and then installed it in the car, you may have damaged the pump in the trans. When that happens, the converter won't spin, which is a sign that the pump was damaged during installation. If that's the case, the trans will have to be pulled and the pump repaired before you can proceed. It could be something else, but damaged pumps are a common occurrence.

As long as it isn't requiring a ridiculous amount of force to turn it's fine. Just went through this a few weeks ago, wasn't a circle d converter but it was the same thing you are describing. It's not a big deal. But the others are right, make sure it's locked into the pump....if it isnt....the pump will be destroyed nearly instantly. But at the same time, you don't want it bottomed out in the pump either.
