Default Recommend a site sponsor for stall purchase

I'm looking for a 3600 stall or similar for my 02 camaro with a 4l60e trans. Can you recommend a site sponsor to purchase from? I'm looking at a yank ss3600 or similar from fti, precision, etc.

I want either a yank or vig. Do any of our sponsors offer a discount other than paying list from the manufacturer?

When I was looking to get a Yank(Dave) or CircleD(Chris),I had to deal with them directly. They(both) build a convertor when it's ordered. In the time pondering a decision,Yank had put on a sale and that's when I ordered.

Many good vendors on the site but FTI gets my vote. Great product and excellent customer service.

Yank PY3400 here hooked to Performabuilt Level 3 behind Procharged D1SC HC,LTs etc stock short block 98 Camaro Z28 - 565 rwhp.

Went from 3.73 to 3.42 to 3.23 rear end gears. Drives the best now of the three with 3.23's . Cruises at 75 mph almost like stock. That said I don't street race or drag race - just wanted good street manners and driveability.

Found night and day difference between my current Yank PY 3400 TQ and Precision Industries 3600 stall TQ. Precision was very loose in city driving compared to the Yank.

Driving it now with current setup reminds me of my stock 95 Z28 and the way it shifted in city traffic - very solid compared to my 98 when it was still stock.

Is there a big difference between the yank ss(or similar converter) which is a 9.5 inch converter and a 11 inch converter like a circle d or fti performance wise? I will likely never do nitrous. I don't want to spend $800 if I can be just as pleased spending $500 ya know? But I don't want to do this again for a while. Looking for bang for my buck here.

Look at Tick's converters. I'm not sure who makes them but it's a billet front cover.

Billet front cover has a couple of advantages, for one the lockup clutch apply surface is much larger. Thats important because remember you are going down in converter physical size which make the clutch smaller if it has a stock front. They are probably a smidge heavier due to more material there but Id also like to think they are stronger overall. Both should perform WOT very similarly.

I cant speak for other converter manufacturers but i can say our 9.5" billet converters are roughly 10lbs lighter than a 11" factory sized converter.

OP since you are looking for a 3600rpm converter you would have to go with our 9.5" as the highest we go is 3200 on our 11" converter. Im sure many members can attest in here that the money is better off spent now on the right converter vs the wrong one now and more later on for the right one.

here is some info to help differentiate the 2.

11 Street Brawler series: rated to 450HP(no power adders), 3200 highest stall, 90 day warranty, no 1 year free restall

Billet 9.5" SRL Series: rated to 750HP(for a single clutch), 2400-4400 RPM capable, 3 year warranty, custom designed to each car, 1 year free restall, available in a triple clutch

Do you offer a forum discount for members? Who would I contact about ordering one if I was interested?
