Default Delay 1-2 WOT shift

1-2 shift has a pause at the limiter. It doesn't bounce off the limiter, it just seems like everything stops for a moment before shifting. The first time it was wheelspinning uphill and actually gave a shift fart like a dsg style box...I passed it off as me maybe backing off on the wheelspin but it just happened again in normal conditions (no shift exhaust farting). Am I looking at a gearbox issue or is it tune related do you think? Car has a Circle D 4c in it.

Well...you don't tell us hardly anything useful here
I mean...for goodness sake you didn't even include trans type.
We don't know the vehicle
we don't know the powertrain management...stock ecu, holley, megasquirt, etc
you don't tell us if anything has been recently changed that could cause the issue. Is it a car that's been fine for a year and now out of the blue its acting up...or did it just get a new converter and now it's being screwy
It's hard for anybody to make a recommendation when you don't give us any info

Sorry. It’s recently been SD tuned with the Circle D converter. The ecu is an E38 to an L76 engine. It’s only done it since it was tuned and the trans is a stock 4l65e

Sounds like its pulling a lot of ignition timimg between the shift . I don't have experience working with e38 ecm but I would look at the torque management tables . Especially that its gone SD maybe some changes are required to some tables that were skipped accidentally.

after finishing up the shift kit install .....my son tells me it does not shift the same at WOT as it does any other time.....i tell him.....TQ management son.....

Thread Update..

So I got my tuner to have a play with it on Thursday. He said he edited the 1-2 WOT shift point. Took it and tested it twice. Dead perfect.

New issue immediately after is that regular cruising 1-2 shift is now neck snapping and delayed (shifting at 2800) rather than the 2200rpm or so rpm that it was before. It had him stumped so he said just see if maybe the ecu wants to re-learn the 1-2 shift. After a tank of fuel there's been no change so back we go... The positive is I finally get to race the car this weekend because Spring just sprung here Down Under.

The factory ECU doesn't learn the shift the same way new transmissions like the 6l80e or allison does.

Post up your tune and I'll take a look at it
