Don't know about codes.

I've been reading and the only thing I know is I'm in over my head if it isn't a tcc solenoid.

So I guess if it isnt the TCC solenoid the converter is getting pulled back out.

Interesting how the only converter that has worked fine in this car has been a ~$150 ProKing from advance auto lol.

Just to warn you... When using a 4L60E family of transmission with a lock-up torque-converter...

The transmission will not cool properly and over-heat when the torque-converter is not locked in over-drive.
Be very careful to not over-heat the transmission while the torque-converter is not locking-up properly.

Got the pan dropped. I dunno

Just from the pan, not magnet.

You can see what looks like clouds in the paper towel reflection

Couple of pics with a flash in dark.

There are some super small specs of black pieces. Hard to tell if they came off the outside of the pan or came out of the pan. No big chunks or anything.

Any advice is welcomed since I don't have the knowledge for this.

Parts showed up yesterday.

I am hoping it all makes sense as I remove it to how it goes back together. Ive been watching videos about it but those transmissions are on their side or upside down. Are there any tricks to doing it with it still in the car? I feel like the transgo plate and gaskets are going to be a pain to get lined up and to stay lined up?

I guess ill remove the trans crossmember for more access to the plug, tried fighting it and failed, my fingers couldnt press the tabs in since the angle was weird and the trans was 30º because its freezing here and im doing it in my driveway. Hoping thats the hardest part of this.

you'll want/need some vaseline to hold check ***** in place. Makes things much easier.

Well I was making my way through the valvebody swap and got to the plate and gaskets and it seems like I got the wrong stuff sent to me.

You can see there's a square where a hole should be. Glad I caught it. But pissed me off a bit.

Also when I dropped the old valve body only 7 check ***** dropped. Once I got the separator plate off I was cleaning it and the 8th check ball fell out of it, like it was stuck! Not sure if that's normal and I really wish I knew where it came from, sounds like it Could have been the cause of my issues?!

So now the pan is back on, I'm wasting a day in November that's 60 out, and tomorrow they are calling for snow. F MY LIFE.

Oh, and I need to figure out where the 8th check ball goes. Every diagram I see shows 7.

Damn a garage would be nice. Freaking 10 degrees this morning. Hope it's back together by Sunday, if it's not fixed it's sitting all winter until I can get the converter out.

Same weather crap here. 14 deg this morning. Man I would hate to crawl under a car to fiddle with a transmission in this cold *&%#.

So anyone else with that issue, you can take the harness apart and switch the connectors by removong the pins....easy (first time I've ever done that). She will be back together today . Fingers crossed.

Got it all back together, same problem but now the ses comes on and I get a p1870 code. Also got a p0103. I did unplug the maf awhile ago, not sure how new that one is. I would be very surprised if a bad maf is causing no lock up.

Started idling like complete *** too when coming to a stop. Surging like it never got tuned.

I give up till spring.

Alright well I dont think I updated this thread when I did the other one.

Got the converter back to FTI and they were awesome to get me another one. It had a failure. Hooked me up with a triple disc 3800

Got the car jacked up on stands/blocks yesterday and plan to take it apart tonight after work, takes an hour to get it high enough.. Ill be timing myself lol. I feel like Im super quick now. Ill get all the tools I need before I start but Im hoping for under 2 hours for it to be out. Long as the trans clips are kind to me, I hate those bastards just because I cant see them.

Quick Reply: Update: fti 3800 reg hit? No lock up.
