Default 4L60e leaking lots of fluid..

I added what I thought was a little fluid because while driving on the freeway I notice it’ll studder before shifting into 3rd or around 65-70 mph and next 2 days fluid leaking everywhere!! Not a drip, but actually a nice flow while car is on... leaking from the front of tranny where the converter connect.. Question is am I looking at a rebuild or?.......

Thanks in advance

Probably have to pull the tranny. Sounds like converter damage or pump damage, or maybe both.
You mentioned 2 days...does the leak stop after 2 days, or maybe the fluid gets too low for it to leak out anymore.
Curious.

Yea basically 2 days after I added about a quarter of a quart of fluid i noticed it was leaking fluid badly.. So I’ve been adding fluid just to move it around because it leaks out that fast. It’s been sitting for a few months. Now I have some money I’m looking into getting it repaired or rebuilt

No, you're looking for a leak. Get the car off the ground and look around.

There's a very detailed way in the owners manual for checking a 4L60E dipstick. Get the trans hot, then let it rest for 30 minutes not running. Then start the vehicle and move the gear selector through each gear(foot on brake, not moving the vehicle) and then return to park keeping the engine running. Then check the dipstick level.

Wondering if it was overfilled and it is venting from the vent tube on top of the trans.

Probably pushed the front pump bushing out and ruined the front seal. How many miles on it??

Does the vehicle/ transmission have the original oil pan, dip-stick tube, and dip-stick?

We would need to know quite a bit more information, to be able to recommend a refresh/ rebuild vs only repairing a leak.

Year, make, and model of the vehicle.
Mileage of the vehicle.
Service history of the transmission.
Any previous repairs of the transmission.
Is the original transmission the current transmission?
Age and mileage on the transmission, if the transmission has been rebuilt or replaced previously.
Any issues or problems with the transmission other than the leak that are being experienced.

Lets start with that...

Car is a 2000 Z28 and like I stated before only problem was the car would hesitate to go into 3rd I believe because while on the freeway I would have to let off the gas around 60-65 mph to get it to shift. Not because it’s slipping but it will start to shake a lil

i got a rebuild at around 110,000 miles about 8 months after purchasing. Car currently has 160,000
