Default Can u recommend good aftermarket 4l80e

Dropped pan on my 4l80e and it was full of clutch sludge. Local rebuilder is estimating 1400.00 to 1600.00 but could be more once inside it. Any consensus on good aftermarket places. My truck is 83 squarebody 6.0 lq4 waiting on yank 3600 . estimate 450 hp range. Thanks

His price seems perfectly fair.
It's hard to beat a local guy you can trust.
Having someone to support and assist locally is a pretty big value.

Miles, where are you from?

What part of the country are you in?
Maybe we can help you find a builder/ shop near you that we here know to be reputable...

The waiting list to get into my shop for work; has finally dropped down to 12 months.

The waiting list has not been this short in over 3 years.

Not sure how far you'd want to go, but I know Accurate Transmission in New Haven CT does a lot of high performance builds and it's still somewhat local.
