Default 4l60e shift kit with tune?

2002 4l60e.... i ordered a transgo shift kit and will install soon. i have a 4k stall with a mail order tune for that already. will i need to adjust the trans tune after the kit is install or will it be ok left alone?

depends what is done in the tune

shift point adjustments will be fine

if there have been changes to the pressures or shift firmness, you may need to alter

You don't need to bump up line pressure if you're installing that shift kit. When I tuned mine, I upgraded to the 2002 operating system from the 2000, and so I compared and used the highest factory line pressure settings from each tune. Still going strong at 190k.

You may want to adjust the shift points and shift times to your liking if you're not happy with the mail order settings.

thanks for the replies, ive changed shift points since mail order tune was done, ive only been able to get to the track a couple times and after a couple passes it takes a long time to shift 1-2 300-400rpm. so hopefully the shift kit will help but this is a 200k stock 4l60e with well over 500 passes on it in the last 4 years so i cant complain i know shes tired lol.
