Default Blocking 3-4 accumulator 4l60e

I have researched the threads on here and noticed a lot of builders say to block the 4th gear accumulator and leave out the piston and spring. My question is do you also leave out the check ball that is in the case beside the 4th gear accumulator housing or the one that is on top of the plate or do you leave them in place? Thanks

Plug this hole and leave the #1 check-ball out of case.

thanks, I’m assuming #6 cb in the case is the uncaptured one beside the accumulator bore. Is that correct?

Doesn't matter when you're killing the oil feed to it as instructed here.

With the 4th Accumulator Piston and Spring Omitted...
The "Orificed Accumulator Fluid" (Green Colored Fluid in GMPT Manual) will full-time feed that Orificed Cup-Plug in the Bore
instead of "4th Signal Fluid"/ "Servo Feed Fluid"/ "3-4 Accumulator Fluid" (Red Colored Fluid in GMPT Manual).

yes.... pay attention to the v/b bolt length when reinstalling. transgo's shift kit instructions have a good diagram, they are available on their website.

To be clear, wouldnt the 4th accumulator check ball be #1 check ball? #6 would be the overrun ball one would leave out IF one installed the HD 2-3 Shift Valve.

You are correct. My mistake. I corrected post #2 to say leave out the #1 check ball.

If you block the feed hole in the case and leave the piston out what is the benefit in leaving the checkball out? I left the checkball as it was.
