Default 1000 hp 4l80e build

Seeing as how many people have told me to just use a 4l80e in my other thread what goes into building a 1000 horsepower 4l80e? I want to get an idea of what cAn be done to upgrade them so I can get an idea of what is involved so I can decide what I want build and to what power I want to build it. Can you do the overrun clutch modification on the 4l80e like you can do on the 60e? What is the dual feed of the forward clutch for? What else needs to be done to build a strong reliable 4l80e that has firm shifts and can hold 1000 horsepower? Can you plug the 4th accumulator like you do on the 4l60e?

I really don't mean to be rude here...but have you done any research or read through the threads on this forum?
There are multiple posts, parts lists, and an absolute mountain of info on this exact subject. Written by myself and many other contributors to this forum.
We can spoon feed but its better if you try to eat on your own first.

If this basic research eludes you, there are kits available from names like Jake's Performance that will sell you all the parts you need with basic instructions to use said parts. Their kits will be able to handle your 1000hp goal

I have read a bit I just wasn’t seeing too much stuff on the 4l80e, I might not have been looking in the right spot. I will do some more reading. Thank you

Read @vorteciroc VERY detailed writeup of the lube circuits on the early vs. late 4L80s.

While most of the discussion on this board is 4L60 related, there are some good 4L80 builds.

It might be a good idea for one of the mods to make a sticky about them; anyone want to post links to some good builds to make it easier for the mods to compile them?

that’s sounds like a good idea while I am researching if I find anything good I will post the links and if anyone else knows any good posts the the links. You are right Vorteciroc’s post on the lube circuit is very good I just got finished reading it along with his post about the accumulator circuits and the over run sprags are all very interesting and provide a good understanding. Thank you

I have been reading more posts and I have learned a lot in a short time from the posts by you and Vorteciroc I like how you teach how the systems work as well as how to make them better. The hydraulic manual for the 4l80e looks a lot simpler than the 4l60e is this one of the reasons that they are a better transmission.

As a start, perform an advance search using the criteria in the image below and read every link that comes up.

I have been trying that but I can’t see any posts that are more than 2 years old when I make a search. Is there a way to see older posts when you are making a search?

Scroll to the bottom after performing the search and look in the lower right corner. I see posts as far back as 2017
