4l80 swap
thanks
(A Production Vehicle with original Frame/ Uni-Body, Can be daily driven if chosen, RWD, Forced-Induction Engine Under 1,000HP)
...Should be considered a Highly Critical "Piece of the Puzzle" that is the Power-Train Assembly.

I currently direct any and all 4L80E Inquiries towards @MaroonMonsterLS1 (Grady of Farrer Out Transmissions) as I do not Provide any Services anymore.

He most likely would make one of his Offerings from @jakeshoe (Jake of Jake's Performance Transmissions) as he offers "In House"...
YES, you heard that! In House Torque-Converters (That would have been another Dream of Mine, instead of Calling Chance all of the Time: $$$$$).
My other choice would be:
FTI (as already one of your own Considerations) has been very well received as a Sponsor, Here on this Forum...
And over all has provided Some high Quality Products for the Applications most often used by Members here.
Hopefully Dalton @FTICONVERTERS (If he is still at FTI... It's been a long while) will chime in here and help out.
So I would recommend Jake's Performance or FTI for a 4L80E Build like yous at this time.

Aprilfool: For a build like yours, like Vortec said, details about the truck will be crucial to making sure the converter is properly built for your vehicle. And a good converter can easily "make or break" a car/truck. To start things off below is a list of details I would like to have in order to spec a converter. Jake and his team will likely want the same details so if you haven't called them already, make sure you have the below information for them as well. I'm available via Phone 386-736-5816, e-mail dalton@ftiperformance.com, or PM here on LS1tech. Feel free to reach whichever way is most convenient for you.

Flexplate (TCI is a cheap SFI option, or you can go OE)
Dipstick tube - Lokar flexible is OK, Mad Man is much better and doesn't require pumping fluid in. MM-DT 4L80E
Lines to route from the transmission to the cooler - many go flexible 6AN PTFE, cheap Evil Energy kit on Amazon
If you go 6AN lines, you need cooler port adapter fittings that are 6AN. Banjo fittings make it easier dealing with the tunnel in the 4th gen F-body
Yoke that is 32 spline that will fit the 4L80E output shaft - can go chromoly here with strange or Sonnax, some just go OE
4L60E driveshaft can be reused, just need the different Yoke put on. I went aftermarket DS.
4L80E Crossmember - Midwest Chassis, UMI, various options here
Transcooler - Tru Cool 40k OC-4739-1 is the GOAT
4L60E to 4L80E harness - you can buy a cheap one less than $20 on ebay and re-pin it. No need to spend $200 on a harness.
4L80E segment swap using something like HP tuners on your stock ECM, or stand alone transmission controller like the US Shift Quick 4
Figure $1.5-$3k in parts (cost of converter is included in this range) to make it all work right.

I was stuck on the cooler lines. Didnt wanna beat the tunnel up on it.
I got a little experience with hpt.
from my experience its the little $20 things that end up costing you.
I was looking on Jakes website and he has a section about his 4l80 builds about what fluid to use. And he briefly mentions hydraulic oil, does anyone use that and is it beneficial to do?
