Exclamation Stall Converter Help!

Please explain how these work. They told me I needed a 2800 or less because I would have to be turning 3700 rpm for this to work other people say to get 3600 or up. My mods are on my other post a couple down. Are vigilantes the best. Help!

I only have experience with TCI. They are usually cheaper than their counterparts, but I am getting good performance and streetability from it.

Can you post your mods here so we don't have to go fishing to help you?

Basically, it works like this.... (or actually this is the way I can best explain it)

When they say "looseness," they are talking about the "mushiness" of the pedal. For instance I have the TCI 3000 and when I push the pedal, it is a little mushier than stock, but when I give it a stab the RPMs shoot up to 3100 or so and it jsut yanks you.... or in my case burns the tire..... Anyway, it cna be driven normally. The RPMS will be going up to like 3K sometimes when you are accelerating normally, but that is just the nature of the best. Converters are also suppose to help with your shift extension... meaning that with a stock converter you may shift @ 6000 and fall all the way down to 3800 or so. With say a tci 3000 when you shift @ 6000 it will only fall back to about 4800 or so.

Good luck!

i would think your 3200 would work fine, but thats just my opinion. i have a tci 3500 and i really like it. its probably a little "mushier" than the 300, but im used to so anymore it just feels stock.

with 3.73's the YTP4400 would work awesome I was told. If you drive it everyday, then maybe a SS4000 or YTP4200.
I just went from 3500-4000 (not in yet though). The 3500 just wasn't enough anymore.

Just match TC shift extensions to your setup and your shift points. I had a SSF 3500, stock internals with nitrous, It did fine but finally collapsed after 1 year. Right now I've VIG 3200 and it is reacting better. I'll know next week at track.

From what I have seen, the only way to see how one works (verses another) is to drive someones car. Whats loose to one person is tight to another. Some hook up harder, some hook up later..

Before you drop $900 on one, test it...

JMHO.
