How much of that D1SC are using? Just cuz its blown doesnt mean its cracking asphalt when its rolling? I have been running the Cmotorsports Stage 2 4L60E and its held up just fine to my launches.....about 370rwhp/380rwtq with a 150, 175 and 200shot nitrous lanuches on it! So theres a substantial amount of power this transmission has handled flawlessly. I think my buddy picked up a Stage 3 from them, with vacuum modulator not sure, will ask.

4L80E! Build it as a T400, and still have 4th gear. I have 1 behind a vortech blown ls1 with 575rwhp and its great, 510rwhp broke 3 4L60e in 2 weeks.....
very good feel, still very smooth at part throttle.......
The complete stock brand new 4L80 lasted 5000kms, 4 runs, best of 11.2 @ 120mph. I have pulled it down to put in a Transgo heavy duty shift kit and it looked great in there other than clutch ware.

Depending on the power level, Rossler's 4L60E might work. He has T400s priced from I believe $1500 to $4500. WE're at 1340 hp, so unfortunately we had to buy the most expensive one. We picked up 2/10 when we changed from a glide to his T400.

I paid 2900. Mine has over 100 passes and 7000 on the street this year on it. When i dropped the pan the other day the fluid and filter looked like brand new. almost nothing on the magnet. I flog the **** out of it look at the times in my sig. It was a tough choice between the flp and the rossler. I went with the reputation and the custom parts that only Carl makes and uses.

TH400 is obviously the way to go.....Vig now makes a lock up conversion kit so you can have a lock up converter on your TH400 Swap. If you decide you still want overdrive you might want to consider a 4L65E or 4L80E

what would be the advantages/disadvantages with choosing a 4L65E or a 4L80E over the 4L60E? Weight? Lose of power through drivetrain? And can the 65 and 80's really hold that much more power/tq than the 4L60E?
