Talking Where is the best place to install a drain plug on a stock trans pan?

Where is the best place to install a drain plug on a stock trans pan? I would think near the back opposite the filter. Has anyone installed a drain plug on a stock pan?

Get a drain plug for a 350 chevy and the matching nut. I believe it 7/16 fine thread. Drill a hole in the right rear corner and weld the nut to the bottom external side of the pan. Then all of the oil will drain out easilt and completely. Do this off of the vehicle so no crap gets in and put a new filter while you are in there.

Have you considered buying a Silverado pan. It has a drain plug built in, plus extra fluid capacity. I have a silverado pan on my car becuase I could never get my drain plug installed in the stock pan to quit leaking. My.02

Happen to have the pan & filter P/Ns handy? I am wanting
to get the chrome pan off, get a little more depth (but not
as deep as the TCI mondo-deep one that's got yellow
parking lot paint all over its fins and drain plug ).

When did you get the pan? I didn't think they had drain plugs anymore.

I have had the pan for about 2 years now. I don't have the part number off hand. I just called the guy I normally order my parts from and got him to look it up. Try a search and see if anyone has the part number. If you get stuck let me know and I can probably call around and get it.
