Default OFFICIAL "I want a B&M or Hurst RATCHET SHIFTER for my '98 and above F-Body" Thread

I haven't seen B&M with one for 1998 and up LS1's (I still have an un-used B&M ratchet shifter in garage.)

But, I heard that Hurst now has a ratchet shifter that will fit our Automatic console. Anybody heard this and know where I might look?

Thanks!

Do you have a part number or something, their site does not show it. I would love to have just that, but I need the (mass) public to call our office and convinvce our marketing dept. that you guys want one. The only ratchet shifter they (and we) have are the console shifters that can go into mustang and camaro/firebird models from the '80s-'90s.

I am trying to bring them into the auto world (LSx, '05 Mustangs and late model muscle) ... not so much into the manual shifter market.

Jegs is carrying it for $172

I'd never suspected it would work on our car because they don't say.

I'd REALLY love to see those pics.

Remember the B&M MegaShifter? This is what I had in my '82 Trans Am.

That's the one I had back then. I picked up a brand new one from a guy who had to sell his Camaro thinking I might could make it work.

No go.

Are you saying your company makes shifters? Or sell them?

Do you work for B&M?
Yes I'm 1 of the 4th Gen Fbody owners with Auto Trans and I've been dying for some one to make an aftermarket shifter that would work in our stock consoles. Just give me the number to call in and ask them to make one. Heck an email address will work too I'll see if I can get a whole bunch of A4 owners to swamp them with requests.

I've seen several people that have shoved a shifter into there consoles and used the M6 shifter boot and console top to make it kind of factory looking. However I just don't think it has enough class to it for me anyway.

I agree.

I bought an old one on the CHANCE I could get it to work... might try the suggestion of this guy who used the other B&M shifter... AND, if there existed the correct one, would buy the 4-speed A4 version knowing I may later swap to a trans that doesn't use it.

Does THAT tell you how desparate we are for a ratchet shifter that fits our LS1's?

They are losing a LOT of money here. The only way they could lose is if they tried to gouge the first people to jump on buying them. Put it out there for the price they do their other shifters and they will rake in the money.

Yes, I work for B&M as a Designer. I sent an email to our Marketing VP regarding our policy for customer suggestions. Either way you can visit our website B&M Racing and call our office (under contact us) and speak to a customer service rep.

IMO, a ratchet shifter with the nitrous button on the T handle just like the old days. That would be sweet.

My thoughts exactly. You just can't get improve on perfection! I'll do my part and call B&M as well as to the contact via web site.

Guys lets get everyone we can find with an Auto Trans and just flood them with requests so they will actually make one for us that fits in our consoles.

I sent Dutch SS a PM, hopefully he responds and I'll post the pictures. If anyone else has made their B&M shifter work in a '98-'02 F-body console, send me your pictures/ideas.
