Default new converter install but my tuning is wack!

i recently installed a yank 4000e on a car with stock internals and full bolt-ons before hand the car ran great throughout the rpm range... now with the new converter it feels like it is missing or stumbling after 5000rpms in 3rd gear in a 4l60. also the 2-3 shift is slow and bounces off the revlimiter.
would a shift kit help this?

what could have caused this. the ONLY thing was changed was the converter... stock to the yank ss4000e

my 60ft time rocks but my mph sux.

After converter swap:
60ft=1.69
7.90=1/8
mph=85

stock converter
60=1.88
8.13=1/8
mph=85

please help...

You need to delete TM if you haven't already, Shorten your shift time by half (anymore then that it will shorten your trans life), Start to lower your shift MPH for 2/3 shift until it stops hitting the limiter (1mph at a time). I had to adjust my shift points after the gear change & again after converter swap. I also raised my limiter to 6500 for SI & shifted at 6300. Now I have my limiter at 6950 & shift 2/3 @ 6850. Good luck & enjoy that 4000!! Shift kit might help? With a good tune you'll be ok, Im running a completely stock trans except a cooler (70k).

I did it with Edit, There an edit guide I down loaded & it walked you through it. There a couple tables you need to change. If you don't have edit or some type of tuner I would call Jason at TSP he'll get it tuned pretty cheep.
