Default YANK's NEW PRODUCT LS/1 400 transmission FIRST LOOK!!

YANK is always looking to improve the LS-1 line, and now we have done it again:
Yank has taken the th400 and reworked the weak belhousing area and given back the structure that is lost when you install a th400 to the ls-1 block
when you install a th400 to the ls1 engine you loose the bolting together of the belhousing to the oil pan, this is important as the center line of the enging and the stock th400 transmission will flex under load and cause a misalignment.
This will damage the transmission front pump and cause uneven wear on the converter hub and leaking (under high load as transbrake use)
Yank have tested this and found that transmission life is extended as the input shaft is kept in alignment to the engine is allows
your clutch packs to lockup on center!

NOTE: you can use any th400 transmission for this conversion.

There are 2 kits 1 is a lock-up and the other non lock-up
lock up kit includes:
A, custom front th400 pump with lock-up control valve body (shown)
B, billet input shaft - to handle high power levels
C, belhousing adaptor fits stock 4L60-E belhousing
D, Converter Lock-up any stall speed
F, complete instructions

Non lock-up kit
A, custom th400 pump with 4L60-E adaptor installed
B, Converter your choice of stall speed
C, instructions

Call us for details and pricing will be posted soon
Thank's for looking
and any input is welcome

I'm speechless, WOW that is a nice piece of engineering.
Any plans for TH350 Case?
Are you selling bare cases? If so how much $$

How come you guys put the extra bolt hole on the passenger side when the LS1 doesnt have a bolt there? (the one in between the top middle and the side middle)

I'm waiting for mine, I can assure you we will test it to the extreme!
I would presume that the bell is not SFI rated?
Thanks,

looks like you used a stock ls1 4l60e bellhousing with an adapter plate between the case and bellhousing.

Good idea. Might want to just sell the adapter plate for all the guys who already have a th400 installed and may want a stronger setup.

Yes, you use your belhousing and modifly your trans
we are selling the kits only
not the transmission you do it yourself with parts supplied
so you can use trans with a broken belhousing or one from another car line like a Buick or Pontiac

It looks like they are using the stock 4L60e bellhousing that already has that bolt hole.

Product Update
Yank has also just introduced a special kit to allow the use of Your stock or replacement 4L60-E drive shaft!
You will not have to replace your carbon fiber or special drive shaft when this kit is orderd or installed with one on our TH400 units
Features of this exclusive Yank item are:
Custom output shaft in the 4L60-E spline
Reworked extention housing so the TH400 is overall the same as the 4L60-E
