ST-3500.. AWESOME CONVERTER!

ST-3500.. AWESOME CONVERTER! Ok guys.. this weekend I did a tranny swap with JFulcher, and so now I have the Yank ST-3500 in my 2.73 geared car with a TransGo shift kit set with 2 washers for a medium shift firmness. All I can say is WOW. No more "DAMN IT.. i didnt downshift, LOST ANOTHER ONE!!" Just "WOOOAH $HIT its PULLLLLLIN!" Driving with this converter while waiting for my new nittos is oh so fun since im on balding RSA's right now. I hated before how my 2.73's were killing my low end/low speed punch. Well that no longer exists.. If i drop the hammer from 20 i spin a little but TAKE OFF. Converter holds 4500 or so on the upshift and the shifts are very quick. I think those m6's would need to be powershifting <img src="images/icons/tongue.gif" border="0"> It totally transformed the car and I love it! Drivability is GREAT. 2.73'rs dont be afraid of it being loose, its wonderful. Creeps forward, creeps backward.. will roll back on a hill, however not a problem at all. Locks up at 45mph, just an awesome mod all in all. BTW.. i was practicing launching a little and decided to put the hammer down from a stop-just for grins <img src="images/icons/smile.gif" border="0"> , well yes it has the capability of spinning them till 70mph and through the gears lol. Cant wait for those nittos. THIS CONVERTER KICKS ***! <img src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

Re: ST-3500.. AWESOME CONVERTER! Yep, I'm having the same reaction to my ST3500. It took forever to get here but boy was it ever worth it!!!
I had a small problem with a code coming on "Idle Speed Too High" and I traded throttle bodys with a friend (I had the MTI ported stock TB and he had a unmolested stock TB) and the problem went away, he said it made his car run better so, we're all happy and I get some cash out of it too, hell it only cost $99 to begin with so I can't be too upset... sometimes mods just don't like each other... so if you're wondering ST3500 + Ported TB = SES Light
I raced a Procharged Cobra (94-98 body style) who was running 10lbs and pulled on him pretty hard he said he usually eats LS1's alive and wanted to know what I had and naturally I just told him that I had a few boltons and a converter.

Re: ST-3500.. AWESOME CONVERTER! How are these converters for normal daily driving and highway driving? Do they kill fuel mileage? I don't want something that i am gonna free-rev to 4000 rpm before I pull away from a street light next to a cop.
Re: ST-3500.. AWESOME CONVERTER! It doesn't take 3 months to get a ST3800. It only takes a few days if you order straight from Yank. It's these huge group purchases that take months to fill. Yank has 10% off all converters this month and that includes free shipping! Better than a group purchase and you get your converter before Christmas.

I called Yank this morning to get a price including the 10% off and it was only $2 cheaper than the GP including shipping.
