ST3500 and Ltrims?
How many of you guys and gals have ported MAF's and are running a ST3500? I have been playing around with my Ltrims (quit laughing) to see if I could cure the problem and I think I have it licked. What are your experiences with Ltrims and converters?
Thanks

Re: ST3500 and Ltrims?
Converters do not affect L-Trims. If you have a ported MAF and had your battery disconnected when your converter was installed, it's going to take 50-200 miles before your computer gets the L-Trims back where they need to be. That's not the converter's fault...it's wiping out the pcm memory's fault. L-Trims will start back at 0% after battery disconnection or PCM reset and will gradually go to the 10-20% positive L-Trims that occur when running a ported MAF.

The converter does not effect LTRIMs, but LTRIMs effect the converter. I have been able to effect how well lock-up works by changing LTRIMs with a MAFT.
Ported MAFs can effect LTRIMs and the preceived load seen by the computer. This is in turn can effect line pressure and also can effect when the computer calls for lock-up versus unlock.

I absolutely agree with this. I had lock-up problems with my Y3200. I changed my GMAF back to the stock MAF and no more lock-up problems. <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">

Joel, are you going to give us the magic MAFT settings to help our ST3500's lockup and shift better

I have my Ltrims averaging about 9 now and all the problems associated with the ST3500 and now gone. I was just wondering if anyone has had the same effect. Thanks for the replies.

Re: ST3500 and Ltrims?
Interesting. My cruise Lterms vary somewhat negative, but eventually go to 0. My WOT lterms are usually zero also. I have had no lockup or code problems.
BTW I'm running stock, screened MAF.

Re: ST3500 and Ltrims?
I know that there are different opnions on Ltrms but the point that I am trying to make is that maybe cars with ported MAFs doint like Ltrms that are around 0ish. I have raised my Ltrms and now all the problems are gone.
