Manually shifting an A4
Make sure the rev limiter is where you need it.
I have had mixed success manually shifting my car.
You can manually upshift a 4L60E and wind out a shift point, but IMO you can't really shortshift
consistently.
But when I have had shift points that were too low I have manually shifted.
I tried doing that at the track last time and I hit the rev limiter on both shifts unfortunately. So I went 11.15@120.30 with it shifting on it's own and then 11.25@120.99 hitting the rev on 1-2 and 2-3 so clearly higher shift points will help my car run 10's.
I am shifting to 2nd around 6400rpm and 3rd around 6600rpm. I have a 7000rpm rev limiter, so I'd like to try shifting around 6800-6900rpm for both shifts to see what happens. So if I always move the shifter at 5000rpm will the car always shift at say 6200rpm?
I've never been able to get a better pass by shifting it myself, normally it hits the limiter.. no matter how fast you upshift it.
