Default Is my stall or tranny dead?

Well, after the cam install, went to have the car dyno tuned. Car shifted and all like normal. Got the car on the dyno and on the first nitrous pull the car stumbled at 5k and then shut off. They were having difficulties getting the stall to lock and then this happened. Ever since then, the car has been acting really stupid. For one, it won't downshift on it's own to 1st gear from a stop, it locks/unlocks uncontrollably, it also locks way too early and feels like it pulls from OD until I flash the converter and unlock it. But it only does this stuff occasionally. We even hit it with the stock tranny tune, and it still does this. I had Mike at More Performance tune the car, and everyone praises his work. So I'm pretty sure it's internal. Especially after he put the stock tune back on it and it still didn't work.

It also seems to be slipping from 1-2nd now. Is it just my stall, or is the whole tranny dead?

Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm so disgusted with it right now.

Did you check the Fluid level?

Yea, the first time we went to tune it and it didnt work right we checked it.

More said they'd never seen anything like it.

Nitrous is a killer on Trannies. I am thinking tranny.
Did you spray through the shifts?

I used to always spray through shifts, but I was only spraying a 50rwhp shot. I made 367/401 when I was spraying. I haven't sprayed the car with the cam in it. They only sprayed it on the dyno. The one pull it shut off, which is when the guy said he thinks it killed the stall/tranny, then the next pull where it through down almost 450rwhp unlocked.

sounds like the tranny is shot. trannies will most often go before the converter.

Only way to really know is to pull it apart. I'd start with the valve body. Maybe a checkball getting stuck. Can you see any large metal flakes in the fluid? I've heard of pumps coming apart on the dyno. What dyno was it? A dynojet or a Mustang dyno.

Default Vss!?

Well, we don't think it's the tranny now. The car runs great if I shift it manually. Everything works fine. I had a couple codes cleared and now everything is working fine except for from a dead stop, it still goes to 4200 and shifts. Sometimes it stays in OD when I nail it too instead of downshifting. A friend of mine has been doing research about it and said that he came across this VSS (vehicle speed sensor) and that I have the symptoms that it went bad. Anyone have any input on this? It's only $30 from Advance, how hard is it to change out?

TTT...anyone?

I can still manually shift the car fine. About the only problem now is that it won't downshift into 1st, or shift into 2nd sometimes at WOT from a low low roll or a stop. Sometimes it also just stays in OD.
