$300 Paper Weight
$300 Paper Weight Pics of my converter that I bought uesd off here. A friend was going to put it in today but told me to get it checked out first when he noticed the marks on the hub. Somthing had got loose inside and was hitting stuff in there too. 
The shop I took it to said it could be rebuilt for about $275-$300. It needs a new hub, a new clutch, and other stuff. The splines that are deep inside are very worn I dont rememberwhat he called it. But almost every part of the converter needed something or replaced. So ill probley just wait a little while longer and buy something new.

Sucks dude.. That is why I would never buy a used verter.. At the very least have it rebuilt by the vendor.
I purchased my Vig used. I had the seller ship it to PI for its free restall and PI shipped it to me. I never paid PI a dollar but their customer service was excelent.

I can only imagine that you did now know what condition it was truly in. I'd go to the seller and ask for my money back. If it were me selling the converter to you and it was still in good shape as far as I knew, I'd still probably give you the money back after finding out that it had problems. Now, if they sold it to you knowing the condition.....

Why not just ask the seller to split the repair cost, that way you get a 'new' converter for 150.00 more and if the guy really didnt know it was bad he should at least do that.

I wish my luck was that good to get my $ back but I dont see it happening. No I didnt know the converter was like this. I called the guy I got it from and he says that the converter was fine when he took it out so I guess all this happened sitting under my bed. He did say that the converter he had before this one had problems. As far as sending it to Tci to have fixed I think ill just wait a while longer and get a NEW one from Vig, or Yank maybe. Well I guess if you guys/gals buy used make sure of what your getting and the person your dealing with. Heres a few more pics.

Hey atleast its not as bad as a $400 converter slamming into the input shaft of yur $1000 tranny causing the tranny to break parts, making the shaft have a 1/2" of front-back slack and not hold any pressure at all after 5 mins. Apparently Torco converters just do that to 700r's.
