Ok im tryin this again, anyone in the area.. more specifically in GA wants to do a swap with me?
I have an a4 with 15K miles and a Yank ST-3500 converter with a *correctly* installed TransGo shift kit
Im not a drag racing freak and i have always wanted an M6 however I got too good a deal on this car to pass up I had someone that wanted to do this awhile back but he hasnt gotten in touch with me and Im still interested if there is someone out there. Let me know .

Not trying to give you a hard time but I myself have looked into the A4(4L60E) to M6(T-56) transmission swap and it is clearly not worth doing. Only a few people that I know of in this country have done it while several have had no success. There's a lot that needs to be done correctly and you risk the chance of really screwing up your nice car. Trust me, I too made a HUGE mistake by taking a good deal on my car(A4) whereas I should have definitely got the M6. I suppose if your willing to make your car a test case than you could try it but I would stronly recommend you just keep it the way it is or try and sell it for another new or used one when money permits. Even Tom Izzo(Speed Inc) did not recommend doing this and he is almost willing to do anything for anyone.

Hmmm havent heard to many horror stories about this kind of work. And a few speed shops only charge $450 for the swap, which leaves me to believe it isnt that bad.

I guess I just haven't heard of most of those people who have actually done it. I could be wrong, but it was what I was told by many people including Speed Inc who said at the very least it would be $2000(although I don't know if that was for one car or both). And Tom Izzo even said it would probably be more trouble than it was worth. I just didn't want to take a chance right now. But if you can find someone who can do it right for you then go for it and let us know how it goes.

Could you please elaborate on that some? Was the tranny swap performed in an LS1 F-body? I might be willing to rethink this a little depending what kind of helpful info you could give.
Thanks,
Mike

swapping the trannies itself would not be the hard part but where the difficulty will come on place is installing the clutch pedal, mounting the clutch master cylinder, etc. Some people say it is necessary to replace to computer also. I am not sure if this is true, but if any of you guys know anything about that I would like to know myself because I have thaught about it myself

Not to mention the whole wiring harness thing can be a big problem to fix up proplerly.
